Impressive Pitching in Minors

For those looking for any glimmer of hope on this season look no further than the Indians top four farm clubs. Team Pitching ERA's are
Buffalo-3.38 Akron-3.17 Kinston-3.65 Columbus- 3.67 that my fellow fans is what will rebuild the big club. For all four clubs to be this strong in the pitching department tells me what the focus over the next decade will be. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that a very average offense on these clubs will win many games as proven. Now transforming these stats to the majors is another issue but we should hold out for the law of averages.

If these guys turn out to be as good as they look now, many of them will get traded for position players.

Good pitching almost always beats good hitting. But the minor league Tribe teams seem to have some good hitters, too. The most important thing for the hitters is not power. It's the ability to hit in the clutch situations. Look at the Yankees. For years they did not have a McGwire or a Bonds yet their clutch hitters plus reasonable power served them well.

It's an interesting time to watch the minor leaguers develop. I just hope a number of them can really hit at the major league level. And the pitchers, too.
